HOST AND PARTNER INSTITUTION
Located at the foothills of the Aravali Mountains on the outskirts of
New Delhi, the Sanskriti Kendra (Centre) enables creative people from
diverse disciplines to work, study and interact in harmony with each
other and the natural environment.
The Centre was created by the Sanskriti Pratishthan, a registered public
charitable trust founded in 1979.

WORKING/LIVING CONDITIONS
-
The Centre has 12 studio-apartments
which are specifically designed as combined living and working
quarters.
-
Basic technical equipment is provided
as well as workshop and conference facilities, a library, an open
air auditorium, three museums and a Ceramic Centre.
-
Training courses are not offiered as
artists will work on projects of their own choice.
-
The laureats is expected to participate
in educational outreach programmes for children particularly from
underprivileged backgrounds.

Open houses are organized for
groups of artists.
-
Interaction can be organized with local
artist community and traditional craft persons.

At the end of the residency, the
Laureate shall complete and sign the Evaluation Form provided by the
Sanskriti Pratishthan and return it to
UNESCO-Aschberg.

He or She shall describe, among other
things, the quality of the experience in terms of exchange,
cultural dialogue and creativity and the artistic benefit
derived from the residency. He or She shall also express an opinion
about the reception afforded by the institution.
NATURE OF BURSARY
-
Sanskriti will provide boarding
(vegetarian meals) and lodging
-
UNESCO-Aschberg provides and manages
the travel arrangements, a round-trip airfare at best rates in
economy class, as well as US $1000 to cover living expenses and
materials.

All Non Indian residents (except
residents from Nepal and Bhutan) must hold a valid Visa and Passport
for the duration of their visit/stay. You are required to send a
scanned copy of your visa and passport prior to your arrival. All
arrangements for Visa and Passport must be made by the residents
themselves.

The laureate must provide for his or
her own health insurance

Please Note

Applicants may submit no more than one application per year and
may in any event take part in the UNESCO-Aschberg Bursaries for
Artists Programme once only.
